"When John Kennedy promised that by the end of the 1960's we would put a man on the moon.Everybody, including the scientists
shook their heads in dismay. But we did it. We can cure spinal cord injuries too, if there's a will. What was possible in outer
space is possible in inner space." - Christopher Reeve
Christopher Revee known and loved by all played Superman in the four Superman movies from 1977
to 1987. In 2002 Christopher Reeve returned to the Superman Universe by playing Dr. Swann in the Smallville episodes "Rosetta"
and "Legacy".
Christopher Reeve was a big role model to me in the mid 80's when I was a kid.Superman showed the values between
right and wrong, good and evil. In 1995 when Reeve's had his back ingury from being thrown from a horse. I believed in my heart
that he could some day walk again.
Last January I got the privage to get to know the man behind the tights so to speak.By listening to his audio book titled
Nothing Is Impossible on CD. Here are a few words from what people had to say about Christopher Reeve.
"I hope the world can look at Mr. Reeve's life and understand that it truly takes just one man's bravery to change
the way we see the world. It would have been so easy for Mr. Reeve to have just given up with the tremendous adversity he
faced. But Instead of giving up he gave people hope. He gave people another chance. More importantly, he didn't just do it
for himself, he did it for humanity. And that's a true superhero." - Michael Rosenbaum
"What can you say about such a man as Christopher Reeve? He embodied all the best that a human being can hope to be.
To continue life in the face of such adversity and to make things BETTER for other people and to continue to contribute so
much is a miracle." - Annette O'Toole .
"Everyone at Smallville was shocked and saddened to hear about Christopher Reeve's passing. We feel honored and grateful
to have had him as part of our family. He not only made you believe a man could fly, but he showed that with the power of
perseverance, any adversity can be tackled, and that is what truly made him super. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife
and family, and we encourage everyone to remember that his legacy lives on through the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation."
- Alfred Gough and Miles Millar.
Christopher Reeve has passed on but his dream ,and legacy will live on forever.
